Unlike glued peat moss pots, biodegradable DOT Pots are made from all natural wood fibers, 80% spruce fibers and 20% peat moss and not one thing else! DOT Pots incorporate zero glues or binders — permitting the plant roots to grow right through the pot for the duration of a normal production cycle. The plant’s growth is not impeded by the walls of the pot. This gives rise to a vigorous, non-girdled root scheme that spreads out evenly and uniformly.
Air pruning is taken to a whole new level.
The highly porous engineering of the DOT Pots allows us to exclude one more ingredient from the DOT Pot — drain holes. Without glue or binders, air and water flow freely through the entire container without the need for drain holes. Why reduce air pruning to a few dime-sized holes or narrow slots? DOT Pots achieve even air pruning along the entire container surface. Not only are DOT Pots 100% biodegradable, but they are 100% OMRI Listed® as well.  great for seedlings

These are the perfect size for cuttings, or for an intermediate transplant of peat pellets. Roots can punch through the bottom quite easily, which is good.
(As with any container like this, though, remember that the pot itself wicks moisture out of the soil and away from your seedling. Keep an eye on the soil moisture.)

 Great pots for little kids – gardening & school projects

My daughter’s school sets up a little village for Halloween and each child gets to do an activity at different areas of the village. For the past two years I’ve been the “gardener” and the kids get to plant a bulb with soil into one of these pots. When they go home they can then easily plant the whole thing. The following spring they are amazed to see “their flower” sprout and bloom! It’s such an easy and great way to help little ones learn about nature, plants, growing things and gardening in general.
The pots work great and make planting so simple even little kindergärtner’s can do it!

Great little biodegradable pots, 3″ perfect size for re-potting seedlings!

I recently purchased these 100% organic biodegradable pots.
I started seeds in smaller trays and moved the seedlings to these larger pots for easy replanting into the ground.
I am looking forward to starting my garden with these pots and especially like that they are biodegradable.
